Golly we have had some heat this summer.  This must be the 9th consecutive week of ever increasing temperatures and we see no end to this. All those winter months when we bemoaned all the rain – I had floods in my garden right up until the end of April.  It has been the most rediculous weather ever known in this little isle of ours.  We had snow and seriously cold weather at Easter and I have pictures of a snow blizzard at the end of April.  Then in May it started to warm up and into June, we were already on the blazing days – not realising we were actually in for the longest, hottest spell since records began.  Even beating the summer of 1976 when we had hose pipe bans, shortages requiring us to bath very little and to conserve our very valuable water supplies as much as possible.  And not to water that lawn!
