I have now got into the habit of buying a set of garden bulbs for my spring borders.  In fact I have started to support the bulb company that supplies to the largest womens’ organisation in the country.   The company supplies very good quality bulbs and plantlets.  I had help from my gardener this year because I had gone rather overboard with my order.   Instead of just picking pretty pink and white tulips and cute little white narcissi, I have now pots and pots of different shades of red, pink and orange tulips. In fact, there are twelve tubs all neatly hidden away out of the winter wind.   I also bought a bumper pack of unnamed roses – apparently strongly scented, these don’t have fancy names but are expected to flower profusely.   I plan to put three of these potted up roses out in the front garden under the sitting room window, to add to the repotted and repaired hydrangea and another pot with a vewry fragile mediteranean oleanda.  So sunny plants all round.
