This is exactly the time of year when we need to be looking at those flower and shrub catalogues. I always seem to leave things until it’s too late to order from the best suppliers, so end up dragging my heels around the local garden centre. That in itself is not a bad thing but there are so few independent centres now that don’t belong to the massive chain store types. I like the idea of individuality – I want to be able to ask an expert on particular plants – I’ve found at these centres, all you get is someone who can go and look it up on their computer, but there’s never an ‘expert’ in the old fashioned sense of the word. Outdoor garden plants needs careful selection from nurseries that really know their stuff. I have ound the anser with the best of the online sites. They can tell me everything I need – painlessly too!
