Something that features a lot on the tv lifestyle and property programmes is the desire for hot tubs or outdoor whirlpools in the gardens – and the need for a substantial plot to go with it.  When I was growing up, the idea of having an outdoor unheated swimming pool was only for the more financially well off.  To have a heated pool, maybe in a special annexe, well, that was definitely for the extra specially well heeled.

With the rise in the number of spas and retreats dotted around the countryside, these facilities are available for everyone to enjoy at fairly low cost in comparison with years ago, and couples rather like the idea of being able to replicate this luxury once they get home.  A minor drawback is not having the luxurious towels and gorgeously scented robes and toiletries of course.  Careful research can make the dream of a tub in the garden a reality.
